ماژول های CPU های کنترلر AC 800M از نظر قدرت پردازش، اندازه حافظه و پشتیبانی از افزونگی متفاوت هستند. هر ماژول CPU مجهز به پورت(های) داخلی اترنت می باشند که برای ارتباط با سایر کنترلرها و برای تعامل با اپراتورها، مهندسان، مدیران و برنامه های سطح بالاتر به کار می روند. در ضمن مجهز به دو پورت RS-232C است که می تواند برای ارتباط نقطه به نقطه با ابزارهای برنامه نویسی/اشکال زدایی و با شخص ثالث استفاده شود.

Select I/O یک سیستم ورودی/خروجی تک کاناله با شبکه اترنت برای پلت فرم اتوماسیون ABB Ability™ System 800xA می باشد . شایان به ذکر است که انتخاب I/O به جدا کردن وظایف پروژه کمک می‌کند و تأثیر تغییرات دیرهنگام را به حداقل می‌رساند و از استانداردسازی کابینت I/O پشتیبانی می‌کند تا اطمینان حاصل شود که پروژه‌های اتوماسیون به موقع و با بودجه کمتری تحویل داده می‌شوند.

در ادمه به معرفی یکی دیگر از اجزاء سیستم کنترلر AC 800M می پردازیم:
S800 I/O یک سیستم ورودی/خروجی فرآیندی و فراگیر باز است که با کنترلرها از طریق اتصال مستقیم یا از طریق گذرگاه های میدانی استاندارد صنعتی ارتباط برقرار می کند. به لطف اتصال باز خود، با طیف وسیعی از کنترل‌کننده‌های فرآیند از ABB و دیگران سازگار است. که با اجازه نصب در میدان، نزدیک به سنسورها و محرک ها، هزینه نصب را با کاهش هزینه کابل کشی کاهش می دهند.

S900 Remote I/O System
S900 یک سیستم ورودی/خروجی از راه دور برای نصب مستقیم در میدان و مناطق خطرناک است. S900 تمام ماژول های ورودی و خروجی مورد نیاز برای اتصال سیگنال میدانی ذاتا ایمن را فراهم می کند. سیگنال های میدانی در هر ماژول عملکردی S900 تقویت می شوند، به صورت الکتریکی ایزوله می شوند و سپس از طریق یک گذرگاه سریال داخلی خروجی می شوند.
سه سری S900 I/O موجود است:
